Sony released in 2008 the 80 gigabyte Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) model in Japan, and was bundled with a Dual Shock 3.

For a very limited time, SONY launched a limited edition of its bundle for the game Gran Turismo 5. It included a rare Blu-Ray disc version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III with the system. Spec III, was first available as an online update. The console existed in black, white, and silver versions.
