RetroPixl was born in 2016, in the beating heart of gaming: Asia.
Surrounded by stacks of Famicoms in Tokyo back alleys, Game Boys in hidden Hong Kong shops, and rare gems tucked away in Seoul or Shanghai, the hunt began as a passion and a mission to relive a dream.
What started as a quest to track down the retro consoles and classic games we loved quickly evolved. Friends reached out. Then friends of friends. The thrill of discovery, the joy of unboxing (or collecting) a sealed classic, the satisfaction of finding pristine condition. It became clear this wasn’t just nostalgia. It was a movement waiting to be reignited.
RetroPixl grew from that spark. Today, we source directly from Asia’s retro gaming hotspots and ship legends: Authentic and rare - to collectors, players, and nostalgia hunters worldwide.

I built RetroPixl because the retro gaming shop we wanted didn’t exist. As a lifelong player and collector, I craved that rush, the thrill of discovery, the joy of rare finds, and those legendary Japan-exclusive imports I once only saw in magazines. I wanted a place that understood why retro gaming matters, stocked only with mint-condition gear, and graded with the same precision I admired in Japan. So I created RetroPixl, for myself, and for anyone chasing that same magic."

Genesis of RetroPixl
Deep in Asia’s retro gaming scene, RetroPixl is created with a clear focus: track down rare and high-quality retro consoles and accessories.
With roots in Japan and Hong Kong, the hunt spans factory-sealed Game Boys, limited-edition Saturns, and hidden gems in local shops. While games feel scattered, hardware tells a different story.
What started as a search for the best retro gaming quickly evolved into a mission: to create the go-to destination for high-quality retro gaming, curated for those keeping classic gaming alive.

As RetroPixl grows, demand follows. What begins as a hunt for pristine consoles becomes a full-time mission.
We level up, grading with care, streamlining logistics, and curating a trusted selection of retro hardware.

Going Global, Expanding the Hunt
With orders now shipping to more countries than ever, RetroPixl scales up while staying true to its roots. We broaden our sourcing network, forging partnerships in other parts of Asia to uncover ultra-rare retro gaming items.
Enhanced packaging standards and bilingual support makes it easier for global buyers to connect with us. Inventory grows, giving collectors worldwide access to pieces they once thought impossible to own, always hand-graded to ensure top condition remains non-negotiable.
2023
"Find It For Me” Launches
Listening to players and collectors is how we grow, so in 2023 we make it official.
The “Find It For Me” service lets customers request specific impossible-to-find retro gaming items.
From obscure handhelds to regional editions, our sourcing network works behind the scenes to track it down. If it exists, we’ll find it.
2024
Birth of the RetroPixl Lab
We launch our dedicated branded line: RetroPixl Lab, featuring retro-inspired apparel and accessories.
From tees and hoodies to mugs, posters, and home accessories, each piece channels gaming nostalgia with modern design. We also use a new version of our logo on selected pieces.
Limited-edition drops and exclusive collabs keep things fresh, with the promise of retro surprises always in development..
2026
Rebranding for a new era
Ahead of its 10-year anniversary, RetroPixl receives a full upgrade. Refined branding, new logos and tagline, an elevated website experience, and sharper storytelling signal the next chapter.
Retro Refurb is introduced, dedicated to deep cleaning, repairs and restoration. Meanwhile, the RetroPixl Lab expands into accessories and home goods.
Following the late 2025 debut of Drops by invitation, limited releases continue to showcase some of the rarest finds for players and collectors.
