In 1988, NEC took gaming to the next level.Ā They were the first to use the immense storage capability of Compact Disc.Ā NEC's CD-ROM add-on device: The PC Engine CD-ROM2 in Japan.Ā
The add-on would be immensely popular in its native country of Japan, releasing over 400 games.Ā
This Add-on can be used with multiple NEC retrogaming home systems, such as the PC Engine, and Core Grafx, but also the Super Grafx, or the PC engine LT. The latter two home systems require adaptors.
This add-on is considered rare and a piece of retrogaming history.
